My Bloody Valentine

1996

This is an exhibition about Love, an attempt to create its adequate sensation. That is why it makes use of heat, sound, monochrome light — the exhibition space is colored pink and made as warm as possible. The space of the gallery represents a vagina and everyone can symbolically enter it. Flashing in a recognizable breathing rhythm the neon “OH” sign is located on the outside of the gallery building and thus expresses the external aspect of love. The interjection “OH” is not quite a word and not quite a moan, it's something elusive that tries to express the affect of love. The exhibit has a humorous aspect: viewers are invited to enter in pairs and to remain inside of the gallery with no other visitors for some time.

The soundtrack is taken from the album My Bloody Valentine / “Loveless”
